Maintenance Technician Lead

HTI is hiring a Maintenance Technician Lead for Mohawk Industries

Through our partnership with Mohawk, HTI is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician Lead to support manufacturing operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving automated production equipment.

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician Lead is responsible for planning, scheduling, and performing both preventive and corrective maintenance on advanced manufacturing equipment. This role plays a key part in maximizing equipment uptime, supporting production goals, mentoring maintenance team members, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure maximum uptime and reliability of assigned manufacturing lines

Perform preventive, predictive, and reactive maintenance activities

Lead and support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) events

Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automation systems

Collaborate with Operations and Technical teams to prioritize maintenance activities and process improvements

Mentor and train maintenance technicians

Manage critical spare parts inventory and support 5S initiatives

Utilize CMMS software (SAP or similar) to manage work orders, inspections, and maintenance schedules

Assist in developing and documenting maintenance standards and procedures

Participate in job-related training as required

Follow all safety policies, procedures, and standard operating practices

Maintain a clean and organized work environment

Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

Required Experience & Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Formal technical training and hands-on experience in an industrial manufacturing environment as an:

Electro-Mechanical Technician

Engineering Technician

Automation Technician

Minimum 3 years of experience in an automated manufacturing environment

At least 1 year of PLC troubleshooting and/or programming experience

At least 1 year of maintenance experience involving fabrication

At least 1 year of leadership, project management, or supervisory experience

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of:

PLC troubleshooting and programming

Pneumatics and hydraulics

Motors and AC/DC electrical systems

Gearboxes and robotics

Industrial tools and equipment

Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical drawings, and reports

Experience using CMMS platforms such as SAP

Professional Skills

Strong leadership and mentoring abilities

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively

Commitment to workplace safety, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures

Working Conditions

Manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery, noise, and varying temperatures

Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, and high-visibility apparel

May require working 12-hour shifts on a fixed rotation schedule, including holidays

Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds

Frequent walking, bending, squatting, climbing ladders, and working around industrial equipment
