Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of young learners as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, working onsite with early childhood students from birth to age five. This contract opportunity offers both full-time and part-time options (part-time must fall within 15-25 hours weekly), making it a flexible fit for specialists seeking to support development at a vital stage in a supportive educational environment.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification or eligibility as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing Experience or training in early childhood education, especially with children birth-5 years preferred Strong skills in developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Ability to collaborate with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams Excellent communication, organization, and advocacy abilities Commitment to onsite service delivery
Responsibilities:
Provide direct and consultative services to young children with hearing loss in an educational setting Foster language, communication, and developmental skills through individualized instruction and strategies Adapt classroom materials and instructional techniques to meet diverse hearing needs Participate in assessments, data collection, progress monitoring, and IEP meetings Counsel families and staff on effective communication methods, technology, and resources Stay current with best practices in deaf/hard of hearing education and early intervention Collaborate closely with school staff and external specialists Working within a dynamic and welcoming educational community means supporting families and shaping the earliest learning experiences.
