9688966-68372 Job Description Make a significant impact supporting young learners as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in a contract position serving early childhood students (birth5 years old). In this rewarding onsite role, youll work with an innovative district in the Lincoln, NE area, delivering compassionate, expert instruction and advocacy for children who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing. Both full-time and part-time schedules are availablepart-time roles should be between 1525 hours per week offering some flexibility to fit your personal and professional goals.
Qualifications:
Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing or eligibility for certification Experience working with early childhood populations preferred Strong understanding of hearing loss, amplification technology, and communication options including sign language and spoken language supports Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with families, staff, and external providers Commitment to best practices in supporting childrens language, social, and academic development Ability to plan and adapt curriculum and strategies to diverse learning needs Must be available for onsite work only
Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction and support to infants, toddlers, and preschoolers who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing Collaborate with families and caregivers to develop and implement Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Partner closely with classroom teachers, therapists, and administrators to integrate accommodations and specialized strategies Support families with resources and training to promote language development at home Document progress, prepare reports, and participate in multidisciplinary team meetings Foster a nurturing, developmentally appropriate learning environment If you're committed to empowering young learners and eager to use your expertise in Deaf/Hard of Hearing education, we invite you to apply now and help create positive, lifelong outcomes for children and families.
