Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference in the lives of students by providing specialized instructional support across multiple schools for the upcoming academic year. This contract opportunity is ideal for a Special Education Teacher who is passionate about evidence-based reading interventions and enjoys working with diverse age groups. As part of this role, you will focus on delivering Wilson Reading Instruction to a middle school student while also providing direct instruction services at local high school, charter, and Montessori settings. The flexibility to work part-time (25 hours per week, Monday through Friday) ensures a manageable workload while making a significant impact in students' educational journeys. The assignment runs from September 2026 through June 2027. What you'll need: Active Special Education Teacher certification (state-specific certification required) Demonstrated experience with Wilson Reading Instruction or similar structured literacy programs Success in engaging and motivating middle and high school learners Comfortable delivering instruction both in person and remotely (technology-supported teaching skills are a plus) Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational abilities Key responsibilities: Provide 5 hours per week of targeted Wilson Reading Instruction to a middle school student Deliver an additional 20 hours per week of specialized instruction at high school, charter, and Montessori campuses Maintain clear documentation of student progress Collaborate with school staff to adapt instructional strategies for diverse learning needs Contribute your expertise where it's needed most—candidates interested in on-site services are encouraged to apply, but remote candidates will also be considered.
