Special Education Teacher in Newport, NH

Job Description

Step into a rewarding role supporting students as a Special Education Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time contract position runs from September 2026 through June 2027 and will have you working Monday through Friday, averaging 35 to 37.5 hours per week. Based near Newport, NH, you'll serve as a traveling educator, delivering essential special education services across a variety of educational settings including public, private, and charter schools. Your expertise will help create positive outcomes for students with diverse learning needs.
Desired Qualifications:
Valid certification in Special Education Demonstrated experience and passion working with students with IEPs in inclusive and specialized settings Familiarity with implementing differentiated instruction and behavior management strategies Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, administrators, and families Ability to adapt quickly to changing environments and student needs Knowledge of current best practices in special education and compliance standards Flexibility and comfort traveling to multiple school sites
Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct instruction, intervention, and support for students with varying disabilities Develop and implement individualized education plans in line with district and state guidelines Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to ensure student success Maintain up-to-date paperwork, progress notes, and documentation for compliance Travel between assigned public, private, and charter school locations to deliver consistent support Participate in team meetings, IEP meetings, and ongoing professional development This is an excellent opportunity to make a significant impact while gaining diverse experience across multiple types of schools.
