Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as a Special Education Teacher, supporting students in a vibrant school environment near Clifton, NJ. This position runs from August 31st to June 22nd, with a daily schedule from 7:35 AM to 3:05 PM. You'll provide valuable in-class instructional support to students, making a direct impact on their learning journey.
Key qualifications and experience:
Valid certification as a Special Education Teacher required. Preferably experience supporting high school students, though educators with other backgrounds will be considered. Strong classroom management and collaborative teaching skills. Ability to adapt and provide differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs. Commitment to fostering an inclusive, positive, and supportive classroom environment.
Role responsibilities:
Provide in-class support for 5 designated support classes. Serve as instructional support for up to 10 students per class, ensuring accessibility of curriculum and promoting student success. Collaborate with general education teachers to modify and deliver lessons that accommodate learning differences. Track student progress, maintain necessary documentation, and participate in IEP meetings as needed. Communicate clearly with students, parents, and staff to support individual learning goals. Maintain a professional, empathetic, and encouraging approach with all students.
