Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC)
Summary:
The Learning Disabilities Teacher-Consultant (LDTC) is a certified member of the Child Study Team (CST) responsible for evaluating, identifying, and supporting students with learning disabilities. The LDTC conducts educational assessments, interprets data, and collaborates with teachers, parents, and other CST members to develop effective instructional strategies and individualized education programs (IEPs) in compliance with
N.J.A.C. 6A
14 and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Qualifications:
Master's degree in behavior analysis or related field from an accredited college or university. Valid Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification. Valid Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LBA) license from the New Jersey Board of Psychological Examiners. Demonstrate an understanding of current rules and regulations regarding a child study team and special education assessment and program requirements. Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary. Understand the requirement to maintain confidentiality concerning child study team and charter school-related matters. The LDTC will uphold and advance the vision and mission of iLearn Schools Inc. while serving as an active member of the Child Study Team. Responsibilities include conducting comprehensive educational assessments for initial and triennial evaluations; preparing clear, compliant reports; participating in IEP meetings; and collaborating with teachers, families, and staff to support student achievement and related services. The LDTC ensures adherence to federal and New Jersey regulations, district policies, and mandated timelines; maintains accurate records and confidentiality; and responds promptly to concerns involving student safety or well-being. Additional duties include supporting charter renewal efforts, contributing to professional development and staff training, assisting with data collection and reporting, communicating professionally with all stakeholders, participating in school initiatives and events, and performing other responsibilities within the scope of certification and employment.
