This contract-based opportunity for a Special Education Teacher offers a chance to make meaningful impacts in elementary classrooms across multiple locations in a supportive school community near Newark, NJ. The position is full-time, following the full school year calendar, with immediate start and lasting through June 23, 2027. You'll serve a caseload of 30-40 elementary students, delivering tailored instruction and conducting essential educational evaluations. The schedule runs from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday. You'll rotate among several sites, maintaining a home base at Colonial Middle School (services provided at other locations).
Qualifications and Experience:
Holds valid New Jersey teaching certification in Special Education (Learning Disability Teacher-Consultant) Experience performing and interpreting educational evaluations is required Background in elementary special education, ideally with multi-site or itinerant experience Familiarity with disability-specific supports, IEP development, and evidence-based interventions Strong organizational and communication skills to collaborate with fellow teachers, administrators, and families Ability to adapt instruction for diverse learning needs across multiple school sites NJ Tech Cert is required
