Job Description

Step into a rewarding educational environment near Newark, NJ, where your expertise as a Special Education Teacher will make a meaningful impact. This full-time contract position spans from early October through Apriland likely continues until Juneallowing you to build important connections throughout the academic year. You'll work closely with a co-teacher in an inclusion setting, supporting both Science and Math instruction. Your primary focus will be a dedicated caseload of up to 8 students with special needs, within an engaging classroom that currently serves 18 students in total. The majority of your special education students are identified as high-functioning on the autism spectrumno significant behavioral concerns are present. The classroom setting encourages collaboration with general education teachers, providing an enriching and supportive learning atmosphere.
Key Qualifications:
Valid TOSD (Teacher of Students with Disabilities) certification required Must also hold K-6 certification, or Math 6-9, or Science 6-9 TOH certification preferred Experience with IEP management systems, ideally Real Time, is a plus Strong collaboration and communication abilities Commitment to fostering inclusive learning experiences
Primary Responsibilities:
Co-teach in an inclusive classroom for Math and Science subjects Utilize Real Time IEP system for documentation and compliance Adapt classroom activities to meet a range of learning needs Monitor student progress and collaborate with support staff Implement strategies to help students with high-functioning autism thrive academically and socially If you're eager to shape young learners' experiences in a supportive, team-oriented school setting, this opportunity could be the ideal fit.
