Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact as a Special Education Teacher in a unique, purpose-driven school community conveniently situated near Swedesboro, NJ. You'll join a dedicated team supporting middle and high school students (grades 6-12) in a program designed to foster both academic growth and real-world readiness. This innovative environment serves up to 56 students, operating as a third-party educational space—separate from traditional district buildings—to better nurture individual learning needs. Collaborate closely with district partners who provide additional resources and services, ensuring each student receives comprehensive support.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

NJ Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility) Passion for working with diverse learners, including those with unique learning needs Experience teaching or supporting students in middle or high school grades Ability to create inclusive, engaging lesson plans and adapt strategies to varied learners Strong communication and collaborative skills for working with students, families, and related service providers Flexibility and creativity in navigating both academic and transitional instruction

Responsibilities Include:

Design and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities Foster a positive, structured, and adaptive classroom environment tailored to student success Collaborate with district partners and support services to provide holistic, wraparound care for every learner Track, assess, and report student progress in both academic and functional skill areas Provide transition instruction as students prepare for post-secondary or workforce pathways Working in this contract role, you'll directly influence the trajectory of students' lives, making a real difference every day.
