This position involves supporting a student residing in a long-term care facility, providing essential instruction tailored to their unique needs. As the Special Education Teacher, you'll play a pivotal role, delivering instruction for a total of 10 hours each week, distributed across a minimum of three days. Your expertise will shape the educational experience for this young learner, fostering growth in a supportive, compassionate environment.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Special Education certification required Experience working with preschool-aged children Deep understanding of IEP implementation and individual learning plans Strong communication and collaboration skills Compassionate and adaptable approach to teaching students with unique needs Previous experience in a similar setting or with medically complex students is a plus
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and deliver individualized lesson plans aligned with the student's existing IEP goals Adapt curriculum and materials to suit developmental and learning abilities Collaborate with care facility staff, therapists, and families for holistic support Track progress and maintain thorough documentation of milestones and ongoing needs Foster a positive, safe, and consistent learning environment Communicate regularly with families and the educational team regarding the student's progress This role offers the flexibility to arrange your schedule across multiple days each week, creating a positive work-life balance.
