General Description:
Support students in their online curriculum through daily goal setting, progress check-ins, monitoring, and tutoring. Provide direct instruction in addition to online curriculum. Primary Responsibilities Meet with students daily to set goals and monitor progress. Guide and monitor students' management of their time. Provide timely, constructive feedback to students about assignments and questions. Assist students with coursework in all subject areas. Provide live course instruction in addition to online curriculum. Coordinate additional supports from other subject-area teachers, special education teachers, social workers, etc. as needed. Monitor learner progress with available tools and develops an intervention plan for unsuccessful learners. Keep accurate records for each student, including academic progress, attendance and behavior/discipline records. Assist students with instructional technology. Establish standards for student behavior that are designed to ensure academic integrity and appropriate uses of the Internet and written communication. Prepare and administer all standardized tests as directed. Maintains confidentiality concerning all student information and any professional matters. Distribute and collect classroom technology; monitor technology usage to ensure it is used appropriately and maintained in good working condition. Gather, maintain, and submit, as directed, all information and forms related to the use of technology. Maintain the classroom environment in an orderly fashion that is conducive to effective learning. Maintain classroom bulletin boards and learning displays. Serve as a role model for students and staff in demonstrating a positive attitude, appropriate attire, personal grooming, and an effective work ethic. Participate in appropriate in-service and workshop programs and attends all required meetings. Work in a professional and cooperative manner with others to achieve duties and responsibilities. Act in accordance with all directives and assignments given by the Lead Teacher/Principal. Fulfill all other duties as directed by the principal. Essential Skills and Abilities Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficient in computer applications Effective organizational skills with the ability to multitask Understanding of high school curriculum in core subject areas Ability to adapt and adjust instruction to create multiple paths to meet learning objectives Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience Teacher certification
