Job Description

Bring your expertise in supporting students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing to an exciting contract opportunity in the Binghamton, NY area. As a full-time Teacher for the Deaf/Hard of Hearing, you will empower students to thrive academically and socially, collaborating with educational teams and utilizing innovative approaches to ensure effective communication and learning. This position is set to begin with the 2026-2027 school year, with a detailed school calendar to be shared closer to the start date.

Desired Skills and Experience:

Current certification or licensure as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) or eligibility in New York State Strong background in Deaf education, auditory/oral or total communication approaches Familiarity with

IDEA, IEP

processes, and K-12 academic standards Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills Previous experience in a school-based setting is highly valued

Your Responsibilities:

Deliver direct instruction to students who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing in accordance with their IEPs Adapt curriculum and instructional methods to meet students' unique needs Work closely with general education teachers, therapists, and families Provide guidance on assistive technology and classroom accommodations Participate in IEP team meetings and support compliance with all regulatory requirements
