Special Education Teacher (School-Based) | Freeport, NY | 2026-2027 School Year 1099 Contractor | One School-Based Position | Daytime Availability Blue Sea Educational Consulting is seeking a New York State Certified Special Education Teacher to fill a school-based position in Freeport, NY for the 2026-2027 school year. We are looking for a dedicated educator who enjoys working directly with students and collaborating with school teams to support student success. While this posting is for one position in Freeport, there is also the opportunity to take on additional cases with other partner school districts throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties based on your availability and interest. hours Supportive and responsive administrative team Paperless documentation and ongoing support Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction and support to students with disabilities in a school-based setting Implement IEP goals and collaborate with classroom staff and related service providers Differentiate instruction to meet individual student needs Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation Foster a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment Communicate effectively with school staff, families, and district personnel Requirements Active New York State Students with Disabilities (All Grades) certification required Experience working with school-aged students preferred Daytime availability required Reliable transportation to Uniondale Fingerprinting and credential clearance required Preferred Qualifications Previous school-based teaching experience Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to manage documentation and IEP-related responsibilities If you're looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a school community, with the flexibility to build a larger caseload through additional placements if desired, we'd love to hear from you!
