What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
- Full time, part time or per diem opportunity
- Fee for Service
- Pay is $35.70 per SESSION, sessions are a 1/2 hour long.
- The Summit Center - 2023 and 2024 School of Excellence, as named by the National Association of Special Education Teachers (NASET) Teacher - Early Autism Program (EAP) works with students between the ages of two and five individually.
IFSP/IEP
mandates are fulfilled Demonstrate professional knowledge of children with developmental disabilities Coordinate development of reports and recommendations Establish and monitor individual casebooks, data collection and charting systems Collaborate with related service providers, center-based staff, consultants and supervisors, as necessary Conduct educational activities that enhance opportunity to develop skills in areas of need Assure appropriate communication with parents/caregivers, including encouragement of parent participation in instructional sessions Assure that all required paperwork is completed- Full time, part time or per diem opportunity
