What they do
A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description
- We follow the school district calendar and teachers receive over two weeks of Paid Time Off in addition to the 9 weeks of scheduled breaks/holidays.

Applicants for Special Education Teacher should hold a Bachelor's in Exceptional Education or Special Education, and are enrolled or have a plan to become enrolled in a Master's of Special Education or Exceptional Education program. Applicants who currently hold a Master's in Special Education or Exceptional Education and are fully certified should also apply! Our agency assists with tuition costs and in some cases our program has helped teachersCOVER THE ENTIRE COST OF THEIR MASTER'S DEGREE!

- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must have functional computer and tablet skills
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must update quarterly progress and take data in the classroom
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must analyze progress
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must Recommend services as needed
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must Collaborate with the general education teacher to plan curriculum and manage the classroom in a positive and effective manner
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must maintain a clean environment
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must be able to lift a minimum of 35 pounds
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must have a positive attitude and display flexibility in a fast paced environment
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must display excellent interpersonal skills with co-teachers.
- The Preschool Special Education Teacher must share our philosophy and embody a gentle, loving approach to education.
