Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) or eligibility for NY licensure Experience developing and adapting educational content for Deaf/Hard of Hearing students Strong knowledge of instructional strategies, including differentiated and multimodal learning techniques Familiarity with assistive technologies, audiological devices, and ASL preferred Ability to collaborate closely with other educators, families, and specialists Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, targeted instruction to students who are Deaf/Hard of Hearing, both individually and in group settings Develop, monitor, and update Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in coordination with support staff and families Incorporate adaptive strategies and technologies to meet diverse communication needs Serve as an educational advocate, fostering student self-advocacy and community inclusion Provide consultative support and training for teachers and staff Maintain thorough documentation in line with district and legal requirements
