Category Schools - Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing Job Type Contract Make an impact supporting students in their educational journey as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing in the Binghamton, NY, area for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite contract opportunity allows you to share your expertise and passion, working closely with students, their families, and colleagues to help every learner reach their potential. You'll work directly in a school setting, collaborating with educational teams and providing essential support tailored to each student's individual needs. Qualifications:
Valid certification as a Teacher of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing (TDHH) Broad knowledge of deaf education practices and auditory/oral methodologies Experience in educational settings supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with staff, students, and families Ability to adapt strategies to various learning needs and classroom environments
Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction to students who are deaf or hard of hearing Develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and track student progress Consult and collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers Advocate for students' needs and foster a supportive, inclusive academic atmosphere Participate in school meetings and ongoing professional development Why consider this opportunity?
