A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

August 7, 2025 Middle Special Education Teacher -
Middle Level Programs Duties:
Coordinate and provide instruction to students enrolled in a special program setting. The teacher will be responsible for the content of both the instructional program and all activities in support of the program as outlined by the program director.
Qualifications:
New York State Certification required, Special Education Grade 7-12
Location of Position:
Middle Level Programs, MOBOCES Campus Term of Employment:
Full time - 10 month
Salary:
Contingent upon education and experience and according to the Madison-Oneida BOCES Teacher Contract.
