Desired Qualifications & Experience:

Special Education teaching license valid for grades K-2 or eligibility to obtain it Experience working with children with multiple handicaps, preferably in a self-contained setting Familiarity with teaching strategies for nonverbal students, including alternative and augmentative communication methods Ability to design and adjust individualized education programs (IEPs) Strong classroom management skills and a nurturing, patient approach Effective communication skills to work proactively with paraprofessionals, related service staff, and parents
