Club Scholars Teacher (Part-Time) Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton Hamilton, Ohio Part-Time | School Year Position $20.00-$25.00 per hour (based on experience) About Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton For more than 75 years, Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton has provided a safe, positive environment where young people can learn, grow, and succeed. Through caring mentors, enriching programs, and academic support, we help youth build the skills and confidence they need to reach their full potential. Our Club Scholars program provides high-quality after-school academic support designed to help students strengthen foundational skills, complete homework, and develop a love of learning. Position Summary Boys & Girls Clubs of Hamilton is seeking certified or highly qualified teachers to join our Club Scholars team for the upcoming school year. This part-time position is ideal for retired teachers, current teachers looking for additional hours, intervention specialists, substitute teachers, or experienced educators who are passionate about making a meaningful impact outside of the traditional classroom. Teachers work directly with elementary and middle school students in a supportive after-school environment focused on academic achievement, encouragement, and relationship-building. Schedule Approximately 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Monday through Friday (hours may vary by Club location) School-year position Multiple locations available throughout Hamilton Compensation $20.00-$25.00 per hour Pay based on education, certification, and experience Essential Responsibilities Provide engaging academic instruction and intervention in reading, math, and homework support. Build positive relationships with Club members while creating a welcoming learning environment. Support students with homework completion and skill development. Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of individual learners. Encourage academic confidence, positive behavior, and personal growth. Collaborate with Club staff to ensure quality programming. Maintain accurate attendance and program documentation. Follow all Boys & Girls Clubs policies related to child safety and youth development.
Qualifications Preferred candidates will possess:
Current Ohio teaching license or equivalent teaching certification. Retired teachers are strongly encouraged to apply. Experience teaching elementary or middle school students. Strong classroom management and communication skills. Ability to motivate and engage youth from diverse backgrounds. Commitment to creating a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Ability to pass all required background checks.
