Position:

Special Education Teacher (Moderate-Intensive Classroom)

Position Summary:

The Special Education Teacher (Moderate-Intensive Classroom) is responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with moderate to intensive disabilities. This role involves developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), creating an inclusive and structured learning environment, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams, and using evidence-based instructional strategies to promote academic, social, behavioral, and functional growth.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and monitor IEPs in compliance with state and federal regulations. Deliver differentiated instruction tailored to students' individual needs. Manage classroom behavior using positive behavioral interventions and supports. Assess student progress and maintain accurate educational records. Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families. Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet diverse learning needs. Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives. Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Valid Ohio Special Education teaching license or eligibility for licensure. Experience working with students with moderate to intensive disabilities is preferred. Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills. Knowledge of

IDEA, IEP

development, and evidence-based instructional practices.

Pay:

$40.00 - $45.00 per hour
