Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Description

The Allen County Educational Service Center is seeking qualified applicants for Educational Aide positions. The positions would include supporting our Multiple Disabilities, Cross Categorical, or Autism classrooms. The Board has identified the following qualifications as having particular importance for the position:

  • Experience with students who demonstrate significant cognitive disabilities
  • Experience working with students who demonstrate intensive behaviors
  • Candidates must be credentialed in Crisis Prevention (CPI) or able to attend training offered by ESC
  • Experience collaborating with educational staff members
  • Demonstrate positive team player attitude
