Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into an engaging environment supporting elementary students as a full-time Intervention Specialist in a self-contained classroom focused on multi-disability (MD) needs. This on-site, contract position is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by fostering growth and independence for young learners in 1st through 3rd grade, with occasional support for some 4th graders. You will guide a small class of up to eight students and provide both classroom-based and push-in support, adapting your teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher license, preferably with Intervention Specialist credentials Experience working with children in grades 1-4, especially in self-contained and MD settings Strong ability to adapt instruction to individual learning plans (IEPs) Familiarity with push-in support models and collaborative teaching techniques Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Key Responsibilities:
Lead a self-contained classroom for students with multi-disabilities, ensuring a structured, supportive learning environment Implement IEPs and modify curriculum as needed, targeting individualized academic and social-emotional goals Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues Use evidence-based strategies to promote engagement and achievement Provide push-in support for students, collaborating with general education teachers as necessary Monitor and document student progress with thorough records and regular communication This contract role offers the chance to work closely with a small group of students, making a significant difference in their academic journey.
