This dynamic contract position involves guiding two moderate/severe classrooms, one at the K-3 level and another for grades 3-5. You'll play a vital role in creating inclusive learning experiences and fostering growth for each student.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

Valid Special Education teaching certification (appropriate for K-5) Experience working with students who have significant cognitive disabilities Familiarity with developing and implementing IEPs Knowledge of a variety of teaching strategies and adaptive technologies Strong communication skills for collaboration with support staff and families Ability to maintain patience, compassion, and flexibility in a dynamic classroom setting

Key Responsibilities:

Teach and support students in self-contained moderate/severe classrooms (K-3 and 3-5) Customize instruction to address individual learning needs and strengths Collaborate with paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student goals Monitor, assess, and document student progress aligned with IEP objectives Create an inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement, independence, and positive behavior Implement differentiated strategies and behavior management plans as required Participate in IEP meetings and provide meaningful input toward student development
