9662623-97520 Job Description Make an impact by supporting students across a diverse region as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the 2026-2027 school year. This contract opportunity offers flexibility for in-person or remote (VOCO) work, serving K-12 students throughout Jackson, Josephine, Douglas, Klamath, and Lake Counties. Youll work alongside a supportive team and play a vital role in helping students with visual impairments achieve their highest potential.
Key Qualifications:
Valid Oregon licensure or certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI), required Experience working with students who are blind or low vision, preferably in K-12 educational settings Ability to design, implement, and adapt lesson plans to meet individualized education program (IEP) goals Strong collaboration and communication skills for working with staff, families, and related service providers Comfort with both face-to-face and remote instructional models Flexibility to serve multiple locations as needed throughout the assignment
Responsibilities:
Support and deliver direct instruction to K-12 students with visual impairments, adjusting strategies to individual abilities Work collaboratively with classroom teachers, families, and educational teams to develop and monitor IEPs Conduct functional vision assessments and provide recommendations for adapted materials and technology Travel to assigned schools or provide high-quality virtual instruction per assignment Maintain required documentation and participate in meetings to support student goals This is an excellent opportunity for qualified educators seeking meaningful, impactful work in a rural and scenic part of Oregon, with contract hours estimated at 30-32 per week from December 7, 2026, through June 11, 2027.
