Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting students in a self-contained classroom setting for the upcoming 26-27 school year. This full-time, contract opportunity seeks two dedicated special education teachers passionate about fostering learning and growth for students with diverse needs.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification (or eligibility to obtain) Experience working in a self-contained classroom strongly preferred Deep understanding of individualized education plan (IEP) development and implementation Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, families, and administrators Strong communication, organization, and classroom management abilities Commitment to providing differentiated instruction tailored to individual student needs
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver engaging instruction aligned with IEP goals in a self-contained environment Create a supportive and structured classroom atmosphere that promotes student achievement and social-emotional growth Implement appropriate behavioral management strategies and ongoing assessment of student progress Collaborate with other educators, therapists, and staff to ensure student needs are met Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings and parent/guardian communications Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom dynamic This unique contract position offers the chance to make a tangible impact on young lives in a supportive educational environment.
