Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role shaping the future for students as a contract special education teacher. This opportunity is for two dedicated educators to work in self-contained classrooms for the 2026-2027 school year. The positions are full-time, providing consistent support and guidance to students who benefit from specialized instruction and individualized attention.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility to obtain) Knowledge of IEP development, implementation, and progress monitoring Experience working in self-contained settings preferred Strong communication and collaboration abilities with students, families, and colleagues Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment Organizational skills for managing multiple student needs and documentation
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver personalized instruction to students with varying learning needs in a self-contained classroom environment Develop, implement, and track Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in compliance with state and federal guidelines Collaborate with general education staff, specialists, and support personnel to ensure student success Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate with families regarding achievement and development Create engaging, differentiated lessons to encourage student growth and confidence Participate in ongoing professional development and school-based meetings This contract position allows you to focus your expertise and make a meaningful difference in students' lives.
