Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a Special Education Teacher to join our Elementary Special Education team at Lehigh Valley Academy Regional Charter School. As a Special Education Teacher, you will serve as a case manager for your assigned students, collaborate with general education teachers, and provide specialized support to ensure the academic success of students with diverse learning needs. This full-time position is supported by a Special Education Supervisor, offering opportunities for professional growth and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a case manager for assigned students, overseeing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Participate in IEP team meetings in coordination with parents/guardians, administrators, general education teachers, etc. Provide differentiated instruction and progress monitoring of students with IEPs. Collaborate with general education teachers to co-teach inclusive classrooms, ensuring that students with special needs have access to the general education curriculum. Deliver push-in and/or pull-out support as determined by student needs and IEP goals. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to promote student engagement and academic growth. Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes independence, self-advocacy, and positive behavior. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of student progress, behavior, and services provided. Build rapport with students, parents/guardians, colleagues, and other stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to student support and success. Participate in professional development opportunities and engage in ongoing collaboration with colleagues to enhance teaching practices and student outcomes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred) PA state certification, intern certification, eligibility for emergency certificaton, or out-of state certified and applying for PA certification in Special Education Experience working with elementary school students with diverse learning needs preferred Understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices Ability to develop and implement effective IEPs and instructional strategies to meet individual student needs Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently

$58,000.00 - $60,750.00 per year
