Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to provide vital support to middle school students in an Autistic Support setting. This contract position is perfect for those passionate about inclusive education and making a positive impact in students' daily lives. The schedule runs from 7:15am to 2:45pm, offering a stable routine with 35 hours per week (including a 30-minute unpaid lunch), beginning as soon as possible through June 10, 2027.
Qualifications:
Current Pennsylvania Teaching Certificate with Special Education endorsement appropriate for middle school grades Experience teaching or supporting students with autism spectrum disorders is highly valued Ability to tailor instruction to diverse learning needs and create a supportive classroom atmosphere Strong communication, collaboration, and documentation skills Willingness to adapt to evolving student rosters and support individualized success
Responsibilities:
Deliver structured, engaging lessons aligned with individualized education plans (IEPs) Foster a positive classroom environment that encourages social, emotional, and academic growth Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers Monitor student progress, report findings, and adjust teaching strategies as needed Maintain open communication with families regarding student achievements and challenges Participate in team meetings and professional development as required Working within a supportive environment, this contract role allows you to hone your expertise in special education, collaborate closely with a dedicated staff, and help shape the future of your students.
