Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make an impact on students' lives by bringing your dedication and expertise to a dynamic high school environment. An opportunity is open for a Special Education Teacher who will work with high school learners in a resource/co-teaching classroom focused on Science and Mathematics. This contract role follows a traditional academic schedule, running Monday through Friday from approximately 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Your specialized support will help students navigate their educational journey, nurturing both academic growth and confidence. You'll collaborate with general education teachers and support staff as you implement individualized educational programs that inspire progress and inclusion.
Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Special Education Endorsement Experience writing, updating, and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) Commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment Comfort co-teaching core subjects, especially Science and Mathematics Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt lesson plans to accommodate diverse learning styles and needs Deliver specialized instruction in Science and Mathematics alongside general education teachers Create a positive and respectful classroom culture that supports all high school students Maintain accurate documentation and timely progress reports for IEPs Communicate regularly with families, colleagues, and support teams Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights for student success
