Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract 3 Special Education Teacher Openings for K-5 - (Pottsville, PA Area) Position Overview Soliant Education is seeking three onsite Special Education Teachers for elementary school openings in the Pottsville, PA area for the 2026-2027 school year. This is an education industry position offering opportunities to support students in grades K-5 across Life Skills, Autistic Support, and Learning Support settings. These contract roles are ideal for educators who enjoy collaborating with school teams while providing individualized instruction and supporting students' educational goals. Assignment Details The assignment is scheduled to begin ASAP and continue through June 4, 2027. Teachers will work approximately 37.5-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, with a typical daily schedule of 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. IEP meetings may occasionally take place outside of the regular schedule, depending on the needs of the school team. Classroom Settings All three openings will primarily involve resource-based services, with a combination of push-in and pull-out instruction. Available placements include Life Skills, Autistic Support, and Learning Support, with the Learning Support position split between two school buildings. Educators will work with elementary students while adapting instruction and support strategies to meet individual needs. Responsibilities Special Education Teachers will provide instruction aligned with each student's Individualized Education Program and monitor progress toward established goals. Responsibilities will also include helping manage caseloads, contributing to IEP development and documentation, and providing appropriate direction to paraprofessionals. Teachers will collaborate closely with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and other school personnel to promote student success. Requirements Candidates must hold a valid Pennsylvania Instructional I or Instructional II certification in Special Education covering grades K-12. Emergency certifications will not be accepted for these positions, and applicants must meet the school district's certification requirements before beginning the assignment. Qualified educators who currently hold an active out-of-state license are encouraged to apply and will be considered based on their qualifications and ability to meet Pennsylvania requirements. Compensation and Benefits The pay range for these positions is $37.50-$53.50 per hour , with compensation determined by factors such as experience, education, and qualifications.
