Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Take your expertise to a rewarding high school environment supporting students who need it most! Special Education Teachers are sought to work with high school learners in a resource and co-teaching classroom, focusing on Science and Mathematics. Located in the greater Carlisle area, this contract position offers a supportive team atmosphere and opportunities for professional growth. The schedule runs approximately 7:30 AM to 3 PM, Monday through Friday, enabling you to maintain a consistent workday while making a difference in students' lives.
What You Should Bring:
Active Pennsylvania Special Education Endorsement is required Experience or confidence in writing and executing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Familiarity with co-teaching models, especially in Science and Mathematics Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, families, and support staff A caring attitude, patience, and ability to inspire high school students with diverse abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and adapt lessons for Science and Mathematics to meet IEP goals Collaborate in a co-teaching resource setting to provide targeted interventions and supports Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth Maintain accurate records and progress reports according to state and district requirements Communicate with parents, general education teachers, and other professionals to support student success
