Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference every day by supporting students in grades 2 through 7 as a Special Education professional. You'll be instrumental in fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment—crafting individualized education plans (IEPs) and delivering direct reading instruction to a small, dedicated group of 12 students aged 7 to 13. This contract opportunity brings the reward of guiding students toward academic growth and empowering them to reach their potential.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Valid Special Education Teaching certification Experience writing and implementing IEPs Strong background in reading instruction for elementary and middle school students Ability to differentiate instructional methods based on student needs Skilled in collaborating with instructional teams, families, and support staff Excellent organizational and written communication abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop, write, and update IEPs tailored to individual student requirements Deliver engaging reading lessons and interventions for students with diverse learning needs Track and evaluate student progress, maintaining accurate records and providing ongoing feedback Communicate and consult regularly with parents, guardians, and other professionals Foster a positive, supportive classroom environment that encourages student participation and independence Adapt materials and teaching techniques to accommodate varying learning styles
