Job Description

Hoffman Homes is a community of employees gathered on one campus to help children understand and manage their mental health diagnosis. The Hoffman Academy represents the education department of Hoffman Home, Inc. The program offers special education and regular education services to students in need of a trauma-informed learning environment, offering specialized services not found in the traditional school setting. Hoffman Academy is looking for a teacher to fulfill our role of Special Education Teacher for the 26/27 school year. Essential Performance Responsibilities Develop and implement IEPs and NOREPs as well as facilitate meetings with regard to these plans and the student's overall treatment program. Manages a classroom of students who may be at various skill levels. Develops lesson plans and instructional materials Keeps record of performance for each student. Collect and analyze student data Works as part of team assigned to each student that may involve the therapist and direct care staff of any students residing at Hoffman Homes. Implements trauma-informed practices within the classroom setting Implements the School-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support Plan Maintain records and make reports as required by State Law, the State Board of Education, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the School. Requirements Applicants need to be able to receive a Private Academic School certification or have Pennsylvania Certification in Special Education (7-12; N-12; or PK-8). Dual Certification a plus. All teaching certifications will be considered. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment. All necessary clearances will be processed.
