A Special Education Teacher teaches students who have disabilities, and adapts teaching methods to meet the needs of students. Assesses students and helps to develop individualized education plans that specify the services and accommodations needed for each student. Works in a classroom that includes only students with IEPs, or works with students and teachers in regular classes. For students with severe disabilities, may focus on developing skills for independent living. Works as part of a team that includes therapists, school counselors or social workers.

Job Responsibilities:
Create a personal connection with each student Create a class experience that shows your personality and skills while adhering to the YogaSix guidelines for each of the class formats Set up classroom appropriately: Props, Mat Spacing, Music, Lighting Provide top notch class instruction Follow up with students after class Build community and connection Arrive to studio a minimum of 15-20 minutes prior to class start time Clean studio space after every class and follow up with students after classes 15 minutes post class
Position Requirements:
Minimum RYT-200 Yoga Alliance Certification Current CPR Certification An outgoing personality and a strong commitment to providing exceptional client service. A genuine ability to connect personally with people from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels. A willingness to grow, welcome feedback, and remain a lifelong student. The ability to teach safe, creative, and enjoyable classes while showing a genuine interest in every student's success, from beginners to seasoned practitioners. Regular availability to teach at least two classes per week. Willingness and ability to substitute for other teachers when needed to help maintain class coverage. Availability to regularly teach for weekend classes and weekday classes beginning at 6:30 a.m. (Or willing to sub.)
Physical Requirements:
Ability to move freely throughout a heated studio to demonstrate postures and transitions, observe students' movements, and facilitate dynamic, energizing, and empowering yoga and fitness classes. Ability to provide hands-on adjustments when appropriate and with the student's consent. Ability to teach hot yoga in a room heated to as high as 100°F. Ability to frequently demonstrate exercises and movements relevant to each class format. Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 25 pounds. Strong verbal communication skills, including proficiency in speaking and understanding English. Ability to operate studio technology, including the scheduling app and controls for music, lighting, microphones, and room temperature.
Compensation:
Teacher pay starts at $40 per class which assumes the teacher arrives at the studio at least 15 minutes before class, teaches a 1 hour class and stays 15 minutes after class to connect with students and clean the practice room (minimum 90 minutes in studio per class).
