Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Bring your expertise and passion for supporting high school students to a fulfilling contract opportunity near Shippensburg, PA. Special Education Teachers are needed for resource and co-teaching classrooms, primarily focusing on Science and Mathematics. The workday runs approximately 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, providing stable weekday hours and time to engage meaningfully with students.
Qualifications and Skills:
Valid Pennsylvania Special Education Endorsement. Demonstrated experience in writing, revising, and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Previous work with high school students, especially in resource or co-teaching environments, is a plus. Strong collaboration and communication abilities to partner with general education teachers, families, and support staff. Adaptability in meeting diverse student needs and varying instructional strategies. A commitment to fostering an inclusive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver specialized instruction in Science and Mathematics for high school learners. Develop and implement IEPs, monitor progress, and modify instruction as appropriate. Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusive practices in co-taught classrooms. Maintain consistent communication with parents, staff, and administrators. Engage in professional development and team meetings as required. Uphold confidentiality and compliance with state and federal special education regulations.
