Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Direct Hire Step into a key leadership role overseeing special education services in an educational setting near Shippensburg, PA. Your expertise will ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504. Collaborate closely with teams of educators and support staff to provide high-quality educational opportunities for all students with special needs.
Key Qualifications:
Active Pennsylvania Special Education Endorsement required Doctorate in Special Education or Educational Administration preferred Proven experience managing IEP meetings and handling executive administrative responsibilities Strong understanding of current special education regulations and best practices Demonstrated leadership, planning, and interpersonal skills in a school or district setting
Responsibilities:
Oversee and coordinate school-wide special education programs and services Ensure procedures and policies meet compliance requirements under IDEA, Section 504, and related state/local guidelines Lead, mentor, and evaluate special education professionals and related staff Facilitate and participate in IEP meetings, providing feedback and guidance for continuous improvement Develop professional training for educators to advance knowledge in special education law and instructional strategies Serve as a liaison between administration, families, and community partners to promote student success Oversee documentation, reporting, and data analysis tied to student outcomes
