Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered. We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Ohio Intervention Specialist (Special Education) Teacher to provide remote instruction and specialized support to students in PreK-12. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping students with diverse learning needs, knowledgeable about Ohio special education requirements, and experienced in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). This is an excellent opportunity for an Ohio-licensed Intervention Specialist who is comfortable delivering engaging, individualized instruction in a fully virtual learning environment. Responsibilities Provide specialized instruction, academic intervention, and support to PreK-12 students with disabilities through a remote learning platform. Develop and implement individualized instruction aligned with students' IEP goals, present levels of performance, accommodations, and learning needs. Develop, maintain, and update IEPs in accordance with Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (ODEW) requirements and applicable federal special education regulations. Monitor student progress toward IEP goals and use data to adjust instruction, interventions, and supports as needed. Participate in IEP meetings, evaluation processes, and multidisciplinary team meetings. Collaborate effectively with parents/guardians, general education teachers, related service providers, intervention specialists, administrators, and other school personnel. Maintain accurate and timely student records, progress reports, IEP documentation, and other required special education records. Create engaging, accessible, and differentiated virtual lessons and learning activities that address a range of academic and functional needs. Utilize evidence-based instructional and intervention strategies to support students' academic, behavioral, communication, and social-emotional development. Implement accommodations, modifications, and specialized supports identified in students' IEPs. Communicate regularly and professionally with families and school teams regarding student progress, instructional needs, and areas of concern. Foster an inclusive, supportive, and student-centered virtual learning environment. Qualifications Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, Intervention Specialist, or a related field.
MUST HAVE ACTIVE
Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist teaching license appropriate for the student population/grade level served. Candidates must be appropriately licensed or credentialed to provide special education services in Ohio. Experience working with PreK-12 students with disabilities preferred. Strong knowledge of IEP development, implementation, progress monitoring, accommodations/modifications, and special education compliance. Familiarity with Ohio special education procedures and requirements preferred. Experience providing instruction in a virtual or remote learning environment preferred; willingness to learn and utilize online instructional platforms required. Strong communication, organization, documentation, classroom management, and technology skills. Ability to differentiate instruction and effectively support students with diverse learning profiles. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with students, families, and multidisciplinary school teams.
