Job Description

Step into a vital educational role supporting students across K-12 as an itinerant Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with OMS certification. Full-time, on-site services will be delivered throughout the district, with a potential opportunity for a hybrid schedule. This means you may provide direct services at a few schools each week while consulting virtually on other daysdetails will be finalized with district input. You'll serve approximately 15-20 students, offering direct instruction and indirect consultative support. The district covers 13 schools (2-3 visited daily), and the main office will be your home base to begin each day. A flexible weekly schedule will be tailored with your commute in mind, ensuring your work-life balance. LCS offers a streamlined onboarding process, with electronic access to all credentialing and time tracking documentation.
Desired Qualifications:
Professional Florida TVI license and OMS certification required Testing and screening experience for student assessments Experience serving visually impaired students across K-12 settings School-based experience strongly desired, yet not mandatory Comfort with both direct and indirect (consultative) services Strong organizational and communication skills for working across multiple schools TRAVEL candidates are encouraged to apply due to the specialized nature of the position
Role Responsibilities:
Deliver instructional and consultative services to students (K-12) with visual impairments Travel between schools as assigned (2-3 daily), managing a caseload of up to 22 students district-wide Conduct screenings and assessments to inform student support plans Coordinate and communicate effectively with general and special education teams Participate in district meetings and professional development as needed This contract position is set to begin August 3, 2026 and runs through May 28, 2027, with interviews actively underway.
