Special Education Teacher | Harrisville, Rhode Island Soliant - 3.9 Harrisville, RI Job Details Contract $32.83 - $52.83 an hour 6 days ago Qualifications Special Education Certification Full Job Description Step into a rewarding role supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher on a contract basis. This immediate opening is to cover a maternity leave lasting approximately 6 weeks, with the potential to extend up to 2 months. The position offers a structured daily schedule from 8:25 am to 3:10 pm, totaling 37.5 hours each week, which includes designated lunch and prep times. In this role, you'll work within a resource classroom setting, managing a caseload of 14 students overall, but primarily providing targeted instruction in small groups of 4-5 students at a time. Your expertise will help create meaningful, individualized learning experiences and foster a supportive, inclusive environment for young learners.
Qualifications/Experience:
Valid RI Special Education Certification for grades K-6 (required) Experience teaching in an elementary resource classroom preferred Proven ability to adapt instruction to meet diverse student needs Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff and families Ability to start immediately and commit for the duration of the assignment
Key Responsibilities:
