Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role as a Special Education Teacher, guiding a small group of elementary students to reach their fullest potential. This full-time, contract opportunity runs from October 16, 2026, through January 15, 2027, and offers the chance to make a profound impact in a supportive classroom located conveniently near Cranston, RI. Work alongside a dedicated team, including three teaching assistants, in a vibrant, collaborative setting where your expertise will be greatly valued. Your school day runs Monday through Friday from 8:15am to 3:45pm, with a 30-minute lunch break.
Key Qualifications:
Active Rhode Island Special Education Teacher Certification required Previous experience teaching special education at the elementary level is highly desirable Ability to work collaboratively with teaching assistants and support staff Strong communication and organizational skills Passion for adapting instruction to meet a variety of learning needs
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver tailored instruction and interventions to a class of approximately eight elementary-age students Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Foster an inclusive, positive, and structured classroom environment Collaborate with TAs and other educators to support student success Communicate regularly with families and provide progress updates In exchange for your dedication, you'll enjoy compensation at $35 per hour, receive weekly pay, and have access to healthcare benefits.
