Overview We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Special Needs Caregiver to provide attentive, personalized care for a 16-year-old girl with developmental and neurodevelopmental disabilities. This vital role involves supporting her daily activities, ensuring her safety, and fostering her independence in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will bring enthusiasm, patience, and a proactive approach to enhance her quality of life through engaging and respectful caregiving. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working in a supportive and dynamic setting. Hours are afterschool from 2 pm to 5 pm. Duties Assist with daily living activities including personal hygiene, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using appropriate patient transfer and must be able to manually lift 50 pounds. Monitor for seizures and administer medications as needed and prescribed. Administer water via G-tube. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering social interaction and communication to promote her well-being. Experience Prior experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or neurodevelopmental disorders is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of patient care techniques including medication administration and patient monitoring. Experience in group home settings or assisted living environments is advantageous. Proven ability to handle physical tasks involving lifting or manual handling safely while maintaining client dignity and comfort.
