Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful difference by providing essential support for students as a Special Education Teacher in a contract role focused on delivering homebound and special education services. Located near Warwick, RI, this flexible opportunity allows you to work directly with students who most need attentive, personalized instruction outside of a traditional classroom environment. In this role, you'll dedicate 3 hours per session, three times per week, supporting a student's educational goals in their home environment. Utilize your specialized training to adapt curriculum, assess needs, and foster academic progress in alignment with individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications and Experience:
Valid Special Education Teacher certification Experience with diverse learning needs and implementing IEPs Ability to provide instruction in a homebound setting with compassion and adaptability Strong organizational skills and clear, effective communication style Dedication to upholding confidentiality and professional standards Previous experience with homebound instruction is a plus
Responsibilities Include:
Providing targeted special education instruction three times per week, for 3-hour sessions Implementing and updating IEPs to support student academic and behavioral success Maintaining accurate documentation of student progress and session outcomes Collaborating with families and school teams to assess and adjust instructional strategies Creating a supportive, structured, and positive learning atmosphere during home visits This contract opportunity is ideal for educators seeking a flexible schedule while making a real impact with personalized, one-on-one instruction.
