Special Education Teacher in Warwick, RI

Job Description

This contract-based opportunity covers the 20262027 school year, empowering you to guide young learners toward success while working within a collaborative, nurturing team near Warwick, RI. Youll work 35 hours per week in a role suited to your expertisewhether thats providing Resource/Inclusion support for students with mild-to-moderate disabilities or leading instruction within a Self-Contained classroom. As you foster academic growth, youll have the chance to build strong relationships with students, families, and colleagues, all while advancing your own professional skills.
Desired Qualifications:
Active Rhode Island Department of Education (RIDE) Special Education license for your targeted grade band (Early Childhood, Elementary, or Secondary) Compliance with the Right to
Read Act:
already certified in, or able to complete, Rhode Island Structured Literacy proficiency within one year of hire Proven ability to create inclusive, differentiated instruction for elementary-level learners Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with multidisciplinary teams
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement effective IEP-driven instruction for students with diverse academic and behavioral needs Adapt and modify lessons to support access to the general curriculum Monitor progress, maintain thorough documentation, and participate in annual review meetings Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families to support individualized learning Enjoy the fulfilling experience of shaping the future for young learners while enjoying the consistency of a full school year contract.
