Job Description

Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a difference each day by supporting students' growth and success as a Special Education Teacher in an engaging school environment near Warwick, RI. Qualifications and Desired Experience:
Valid teaching license with Special Education endorsement Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field (Master's degree preferred) Experience creating and modifying Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and families Knowledge of various instructional strategies tailored to diverse learners Patience, adaptability, and enthusiasm for student achievement
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement individualized lesson plans based on student IEP goals Create a positive, structured classroom that supports diverse learning needs Conduct ongoing assessments to track progress and adjust instruction as needed Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic student support Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and IEP documentation Communicate effectively with parents, caregivers, and staff regarding student progress Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom culture
