9681824-02886 Job Description Step into a meaningful role supporting students with high functional life skills in a dynamic elementary school setting. As a Special Education Teacher, youll be instrumental in providing individualized instruction and guidance during an extended leave coverage. With a supportive classroom team of three teaching assistants and a manageable caseload of around eight students, youll foster growth and confidence in learners who benefit from structure and encouragement.
Key Qualifications:
Valid and active Special Education Educator Certificate Experience working with special education students, particularly those with high functional life skills Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with support staff and administration Dedication to creating a positive, inclusive, and structured learning environment
Primary Responsibilities:
Develop and implement engaging, differentiated lesson plans targeting individual student needs Assess student progress and adapt instructional strategies accordingly Work in close collaboration with teaching assistants to provide consistent, high-quality support Ensure compliance with all special education IEP requirements and documentation Foster a classroom atmosphere where every student feels safe and valued The assignment runs full-time from mid-October to mid-January, aligning with typical school hoursMonday through Friday, 8:15 AM to 3:45 PM, allowing for a healthy work-life balance and a mid-day break.
