9601189-29649 Job Description Step into a pivotal role supporting students with diverse learning needs at a dynamic elementary setting near Greenwood, SC. As the dedicated Special Education Teacher for an extended resource/self-contained classroom, youll be part of a close-knit team of three special educators, making a tangible difference for K4-5th graders. Some students will be with you all day, while others join for targeted ELA or math supportcreating a rewarding, varied experience each day. With a paraprofessional assistant and a manageable caseload of 8-12 students, youll foster individualized growth in a supportive environment. This contract position runs from July 17 to June 2.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid Special Education Teacher certification. Previous experience teaching in a special education setting, especially in elementary grades. Strong understanding of individualized instruction and IEP implementation. Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Commitment to nurturing student progress in both academic and social-emotional areas. Experience with resource, inclusion, or self-contained classroom models is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide instruction in an extended resource/self-contained setting for students in K4-5th grade. Develop and implement IEPs based on each childs needs. Collaborate with co-teachers and general education staff to deliver high-quality instruction and support. Adapt lessons for varying skill levels, ensuring all students receive equitable access to learning opportunities.
