Category Schools - Special Education Teacher Job Type Contract Make a meaningful impact by supporting students with special needs in a rewarding contract position in the Bluffton/Hilton Head region of South Carolina. Three new openings are available for experienced Special Education Teachers who are passionate about inclusive education and eager to start the 2026/27 school year. Positions are full-time, on-site, and span a variety of educational environments, including intensive support and resource classrooms at the elementary, middle, and high school levels.
Key Qualifications:
Valid special education teaching certification Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Special Education or related field Experience with IEP development and collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners Familiarity with behavior intervention strategies preferred
Role Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and needs Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies within inclusive and resource settings Differentiate instruction to support a variety of learning styles and abilities Collaborate closely with general education staff, families, and administrators Monitor student progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in IEP meetings Foster a welcoming, supportive classroom environment that encourages student growth and independence
