Job Description

Supplemental Health Care is partnering with a school district in South Carolina to hire dedicated Special Education Teachers for the 2026-2027 school year. We are seeking passionate educators who are committed to helping students with diverse learning needs achieve academic and personal success in a supportive school environment. These opportunities include elementary-level special education classrooms serving students with a range of educational and behavioral needs. Teachers may work in resource, self-contained, cross-categorical, or behavior-focused settings. Contract Details Pay $42- $46 per hour Full-time contract position: August 2026 through May 2027 37.5 hours per week| 7.5-hour workdays Elementary Behavior Intervention Classroom (BIC) Support students in a behavior-focused special education classroom Implement behavior intervention strategies and individualized instruction Collaborate with support staff, families, and school administrators Elementary Cross-Categorical Special Education Teacher Provide specialized instruction to students with diverse learning needs Develop and implement IEPs and accommodations Foster an inclusive and engaging learning environment Resource and Self-Contained Special Education Classrooms Work with students in grades 6-8 in either resource or self-contained settings Class sizes typically range from 6-12 students Instructional assistant support available in select classrooms Serve students in a small, rural school setting with strong community support Responsibilities Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) Deliver specialized instruction aligned with student goals and state standards Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families Monitor student progress and maintain required documentation Support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth Create a positive and structured learning environment Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings Qualifications Active South Carolina Educator License required Special Education certification required Multi-Categorical certification preferred Previous experience working with students with behavioral and/or diverse learning needs preferred Strong classroom management and communication skills Ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families Why SHC Education?
